Q: What are some types of gate handles?

A: We offer two types of gate handles depending on your project needs—the AH and the GHW10. We also have kits where the handle and latch come in one convenient package.

Q: Which gate handle should I buy?

A: Often for gate handles, you have more options to choose what you like as their function for the gate is more for ease of use rather than it being integral to the structure of the gate. We suggest choosing one that feels sturdy enough for the weight and size of your gate, and one that installs with hardware based on that too. As well, ensure it is made of materials such as galvanized steel that has been powder coated, like the ones Nuvo iron makes so it can last throughout the seasons in all weather conditions.

Q: Which side of the gate does the handle go on?

A: We suggest that the handle be on the side of the gate you pull towards you. Some people opt to put handles on both sides of their gate if they find it easier to use, but usually homeowners tend to find them only necessary on the side that the gate swings out, or the side that you would need to pull towards you.

Q: Can gate handles be removed?

A: Yes, gate handles can be removed with a drill.

Q: Can I use an exterior door handle on a gate?

A: While the short answer is no, you could always retrofit handles to your gate and find the brands who do sell handles that you could use on a gate. That said, we always recommend using a gate handle for your gate.

Q: Where can I find gate handles near me?

A: You can use the ‘Where to Buy’ feature on our website to see where you can find the gate handles nearest you.
