We filmed a video with Carlos Pacheco, president of Nuvo Iron, and Barrie Shepley, owner of C3 to discuss some of the common questions about the event and give you more insight into what event day is like. A special thanks to the C3 team and Jason Fonger for putting this video together. Watch the video below:
It’s time to dust off those running shoes and pull out some festive attire. We are back for the 4th year as the title sponsor of the annual Nuvo Iron™ 5k Eggnog Jog Sunday, December 5th, 2021.
The Eggnog Jog is a holiday tradition with about 40 years of history behind it. Some great folks in Georgetown, Ontario started the event to raise money during the holiday season for various charities. The founders passed along the tradition to C3 & Nuvo Iron 4 years ago so we could continue to build this tradition for years to come. We support various initiatives within the community with the money we raise from the event, which you can learn more about in the video below.
We know not everyone’s a runner, but that’s one of the great things about this event, you can take the track at your own speed. Whether that’s running, jogging, walking, or a mix of any of those, we still encourage you to grab your friends, get on some festive gear, and come out to join us.
Time to Get Festive
Our event is right before the holiday season so you get to pull out those ugly Christmas sweaters, antlers & elf hats a bit early and rock them during the race. Check out photos from last year’s event & festive outfits here.
Build Your Team
We also encourage you to come out with a couple of friends, family, or co-workers. Over the years of sponsoring the event, it has now become a fun tradition to incorporate before the holiday season for our staff and their family members. If you want to add another element into it, put a wager in amongst your team for who will have the fastest time across the finish line, or who will wear the best costume on race day.
Covid Protocols
One of the main changes we started last year due to the pandemic, that we are still following this year, is that we will be running in waves of 50 people every 30 minutes throughout the day rather than all starting at once. This helps us maintain a smaller number of people at the event throughout the day and on the track. This is also more convenient for our runners as you can choose the time of day that works best for you and your group to start at.
We also encourage people to socially distance themselves, wear a mask where that’s not possible, and sanitize their hands.
For our post-race meal, rather than handing out snacks like previous years, we will provide you with a voucher to take to a local participating drive-through window located just around the race spot, so you can safely fuel yourself up after the race.
Date: Sunday, December 5th, 2021
Location
The race will be hosted at the same spot as last year at the beautiful Woodington Lake Golf and Country Club at 7110 4th Line, in Tottenham Ontario
We are also continuing the same-day pickup for all race day materials at the golf course. This includes the event Winter Hats, running number pin, & food vouchers for a post-race snack.
